Day 1:
Marrakech
Welcome to Morocco! Following your transfer from the airport to our joining hotel in the heart of Marrakech, make the most of your first day and explore the souks and Djemaa El Fna (the legendary main square). Be sure to be at the hotel for the pre-departure meeting at 18.00 where you will meet your fellow travellers. Overnight Marrakech (D)
Day 2:
Gorges du Dades
Leaving Marrakech, we venture through the Gorges du Dades, a stunning valley which extends from the High Atlas to the Jebel Sahro range in the south. Berbers built many Kasbahs in the vicinity of gorges for defence purposes and these, combined with its natural beauty make this area a fitting backdrop to the start of your adventure! Overnight Gorges du Dades (B, L, D)
Day 3:
Todra Gorge
After breakfast we head east and discover the stunning Todra Gorge with its 300m high cliffs towering above us. We will have an early lunch at the village co-operative where you can see and buy authentic, Berber, handmade rugs, kilims and carpets. The afternoon can be spent exploring the Gorge, walking through the Palmerie or trying our optional activity of Rock Climbing. Overnight Todra Gorge (B, L, D)
Day 4:
Sahara Desert
We leave Todra and make our way across the Jebel Sahro towards Erg Chebbi where magnificent sand dunes signal the start of the Sahara Desert. En route, we stop for a swim and some lunch before arriving at Merzouga where we leave our vehicle and take a camel trek into the desert to a Berber camp. Savour the quiet majesty of the desert and enjoy every moment of this highlight of your Moroccan adventure. This evening, enjoy local food and a night under the Saharan stars. To seal this as an experience of a life time, surf the Sahara Desert and try Dune Boarding! Overnight Berber camp (B, L, D)
Day 5:
Ouarzazate
We leave the Sahara Desert and continue our adventure through the Dadès Valley along the route of 1000 Kasbahs. This area boasts a beautiful landscape dotted with untouched villages that preserve that sense of times past where you can witness villagers going about their daily routine. We venture on to Ouarzazate, which African traders once used as a resting place on their journeys up to Europe which makes sense as it is an intersection, triangulated by the Atlas, Draa and Dades Valleys. This areas appeal is best conveyed through its use as a film set for many great films - The Last Temptation of Christ, The Living Daylights and, more recently, Gladiator. We make it in time for a swim which leaves you refreshed and ready to explore the centre. Overnight Ouarzazate ( B, L, D )
Day 6:
Ait Benhaddou
This morning, the adventure continues as we head for Aït Benhaddou, a ‘fortified city', situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara Desert and Marrakech. En route, choose from optional quad biking or a visit to the film studio. We then travel over the High Atlas mountains on our way to Marrakech. On a hill along the Ouarzazate River we find Aït Benhaddou. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it boasts great examples of Kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. Overnight Marrakech (B,L)
Day 7:
Marrakech
Enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech this morning with free time in the afternoon to explore independently. Within the rose-coloured walls of the medina you find a reality that is not that far removed from a film set: winding streets that open onto lush gardens and dark alleyways that lead to bustling souks. The focal point is the central square, the Djemâa-el-Fna, an extraordinary gathering point and market place. Full of colour, spicy aromas and traders, it is best seen in the evening when overflowing with food stalls, dancers, acrobats, fortune tellers, musicians and henna artists. We will enjoy our last group meal in the square. Overnight Marrakech (B, D)
Day 8:
Marrakech
The adventure holiday ends after breakfast. (B)
It was a great tour. Efficient & friendly, well organised. We covered lots of ground and saw many interesting things. It was hassle free. The guide + driver were great at what they do and made it really enjoyable.
(Michael & Marina – November 2016)

Our guide always kept an eye out for us, watching our safety and tending to our needs. He is an excellent guide and we felt very fortunate to have him.
(Yi – November 2016)

This was a perfect family holiday, full of information, an introduction to a different culture and a warm welcome to the country. The size of the bus was perfect. We got to know everyone plus Brahim had a great sense of humour so kept us all moving along wonderfully well. We will all miss Morocco!
(Beverley – October 2016)

It was really lovely learning and experiencing a different culture. This was the first tour style holiday I have been on and I really enjoyed it.
(LilyRose – October 2016)

I thought the organisation and visits were ideal for such a small trip. I enjoyed the company of such a diverse group. The two long days drive was tiring.

Mustapha made the trip so special along with an amazing group of people. We became a family for 8 days with an age range of 23-61! The guides knowledge and personality were faultless. I was part of a Nomadic Expedition tour and absolutely loved my time in Morocco! We had great knowledgeable and friendly guides, nice accommodation and good food. It’s a busy couple of days but my highlights would be rock climbing in the canyon and sleeping under the stars in the Sahara! Definitely would recommend them
(Lauren - Sept 2012)

We are still relaxing in Marrakech but have just finished an 8 day Nomadic tour of Morocco with Brahim as our guide and Rachid as our driver. It was the best tour we've been on, and we've done a few over the years. It was good because of the scenery and activities of course, and also because of the food and accommodation which were outstanding, but the key factor was Brahim...he was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and with a great style. He is a real asset to your company - don't lose him!! Thanks very much - we have thoroughly enjoyed Morocco, and will recommend your services to anyone else travelling in this part of the world.
(Andrew & Pauline - June 2012)

Can't imagine having a better tour in Morocco. Amazing place, amazing tour - Nomadic are a great company. (Lydia - Dec 2011)
Brahim was so helpful and always friendly - he made it his business to make us all feel at home. Can't thank him enough.
(Carly - Oct 2011)

Day 3:
Todra Gorge - Hotel Amazir
Nomadic’s view: Arriving at this hotel is a bit deceptive; it is on the road side and apart from being a nice stone building it does not look overly impressive, but the atmosphere, location and customer service are what make a hotel and this has all that in abundance. When you enter the reception area, which is quite small, there is a cosy welcoming atmosphere. Downstairs from the reception area you walk into a beautiful restaurant in true Moroccan style with large upholstered seating along the walls, mosaic tiles rising up the pillars and beautiful views over the garden and pool. Beyond that is the terrace backing on to the river and Palmerie, where we will enjoy breakfast in the morning. The rooms are a little more basic than our other hotels, but comfortable, clean and spacious. The herbs growing in the garden will be picked by our Chef before adding them to the evening’s dinner. Outside is a lovely pool surrounded by large Palm trees and the view of the gorgeous mountains. The sound of the water in the Gorge just adds to the relaxed feel this hotel creates. Facilities; air-con, WIFI (in reception area only) pool, restaurant. www.lamazir.com
Day 4:
Sahara - Auberge La Caravane
Nomadic’s view: A traditional Berber camp surrounded by the incredible sand dunes of the Sahara desert. The perfect spot for a Saharan sun set and sun rise. We can also sand board down the dunes, enjoy a Moroccan dinner and sleep in a large Berber tent or just put your mattress under the stars. The camp even has a flushing toilet! Enjoy this pure experience of sleeping under 1,000.000’s of stars (our highest star rated hotel)
Day 5:
Ouarzazate - Les Jardins de Ouarzazate
Nomadic’s view: Another beautiful Moroccan Kasbah style hotel. This hotel is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surrounding views. The reception area has lots of Moroccan decorations with a big fountain as a focal point. A lovely shaped pool and the surrounding gardens create an atmosphere of rest and relaxation. So make the most of it. The rooms are spacious and in true Moroccan style and colours. Facilities; air con, WIFI (in reception and restaurant area only) pool, Restaurant & Bar (alcohol served) www.hotel-les-jardins-de-ouarzazate.com/en
